South Africa’s homegrown supercar, the Perana Z-One will be at the Geneva Show which starts next week. The Z-one has been styled by famous Italian design house Zagato, and it looks amazing. The Perana Z-One is a proudly South African product!
The Z-One features a traditional tubular and box section chassis, along with a double-wishbone set up on both axles. There will be Eibach springs with Bilstein dampers controlling the rebound.
There will be no ESP or ABS on the car, you will be kept on the tarmac by Michelin PS2 tyres in the size of 275/35/18s for the front and 345/30/19s for the rear.
You will find dual and single piston sliding caliper brakes on the front and rear, along with 325mm discs on the front axle and 305mm at the back.
There will be a V8 engine from a Corvette unit, and this engine has a 6.2-litre displacement with 330kW and 583Nm of torque. It will be connected to a six-speed manual transmission and you will be able to get from 0-100km/h in under 4 seconds.
Power to weight comes in at 240kW/tonne, as the car weighs in at 1,195kg.
There will be under 1,000 units produced annually at the Port Elizabeth plant, while the retail price in Europe is expected to be €50 000, and it will go into full production after the Geneva Show.
