SCOOPED: Dr1ft Squad’s Silver Surfer Photo shoot

What would the South African car/racing industry be if we did not have our own spy shots and pre-releases of upcoming news. Although this doesn’t really have much to do with spy shots, we can still reveal a little inside information on certain news.

We bring to you, the Dr1ft Squad BMW M3 Silver Surfer, which was caught undergoing a photo shoot with some online magazines/video companies (we’ll give you a clue, think: MotionVideo and UrbanRacr). We caught these guys while driving past Starlite Diner, in Cape Town.

The aim of the shoot was to promote the car, as we were told that it had already been sold, or something.

There were various other cars which popped up later, like the 200SX Dr1ft Squad car, in white, as well as a Hayabusa Turbo. Wow, that bike is insane. There was also another Dr1ft Squad Golf there to get the name out.

It seemed to be a successful shoot, which did get a bit of attention from those driving past as many people decided to either race their cars or hoot. At one point there was another M3 driver which thought that he could drift.. He couldn’t, and this made him sour, so he went back home.

After two or so tries, Bradley, AKA the Silver Surfer got his intro right. We have included  a video showing the car in action before he starts to speak.

From what we heard the performance mods on the “BMW German M3 Spec” (yep, quoted from him) were limited to a KW Suspension and a chipped ECU. Visual modifications include vinyls, lambo-styled doors and many others which you’ll most probably find in the online magazines.

Overall, we’d say this went well.. Hope the two online magazines are not mad at us for this, but it should build hype. The next issues are guaranteed to be really awesome, and thanks to the Silver Surfer for pulling an insane drift before leaving the parking lot.
